SquirrelMapper: classify squirrel colour and watch evolution in action
The eastern gray squirrel comes in gray and black colour forms, and their pattern differs between neighbourhoods. Volunteers classify the colour of squirrels in photos from iNaturalist and camera traps and identify predators, so that scientists can understand how predation affects coat colour: an example of evolution in action. The project interface is in English only. No special training is needed, there is no application deadline, and a volunteer certificate can be generated in the Zooniverse account.
