Anyone can take part with single images taken in 2026; entrants under 16 need the consent of a parent or guardian. The first three photographs are free (extra image packs are paid) in one of ten categories, including Architecture, Landscape, Street Photography, Travel and Natural World & Wildlife; the deadline is 16:00 GMT on January 5, 2027. The overall winner receives 5,000 dollars, Sony equipment and flights and accommodation to the ceremony in London; in each category a winner and up to 15 shortlisted photographers are recognised.

Open to photographers of any country who are 19 or under on the closing date. Entries are accepted from 1 June 2026 to 5 January 2027 at 16:00 GMT and entry is free. The overall winner receives Sony Digital Imaging equipment plus flights and accommodation for the awards ceremony in London, and the shortlist (up to 9 photographers) gets certificates and global promotion.

Students of photography programmes aged 18 to 30 can take part, and entry is free. A series of 5-10 photographs on the 2027 theme "Journeys" (journeys in the broadest sense, shot on any device) is required, and entries are accepted until 16:00 GMT on November 27, 2026. Up to ten photographers are shortlisted; the winner receives Sony Digital Imaging equipment and flights and accommodation to the ceremony in London (together with one tutor), and the winner's university receives equipment worth about 30,000 euros.
