Harvard International Economics Essay Competition (HIEEC) 2026/27
An economics essay contest run by the Harvard Undergraduate Economics Association for students in grades 9-12 from anywhere in the world. Each year the organizers release prompts, and entrants choose one and write a focused essay of about 1,500 words; the strongest entries are judged by a Harvard economics professor. The 2026/27 prompts come out in October-November, the submission deadline is in January 2027 and results follow in spring; final rules and dates will be posted when the contest opens this fall.
