Many programs do not take everyone: internships, grants, summer schools and some competitions choose participants by application. An application is a form on the organizer's site: details about you, answers to questions, sometimes an essay, a recommendation or a CV. It has to be sent before the deadline shown on the program card, and the program page lists what you will need to apply.
Where do I apply?
Usually on the organizer's site: Diplace takes you straight to the right page. For some programs you can fill in the form right on Diplace.
What is the application review?
Before you send it, you paste the application questions and your answers, and the review checks them against the requirements of that particular program: what is already strong, what is missing and how to rewrite it. You send the application yourself, on the organizer's site. Review is part of Pro: up to 100 reviews a month.
What is Mentor?
A personal plan made of real programs for your goal: what to do this week and why. Mentor looks at your goal and profile (age, grade, field, interests, English), remembers your answers to earlier steps and breaks application prep into days for programs with a deadline. It is part of Pro. The catalog itself is the same for everyone.
Is the site paid?
The catalog, teams, portfolio and ranking need no subscription. Only the Pro subscription is paid: a personal plan from the Mentor and application answer reviews.
Do I need an account to browse?
No, the catalog is open to everyone. Signing in lets you save cards and track your applications.
How much is Pro?
1 990 ₸ per month or 19 900 ₸ per year. Pro cannot be bought yet: we are connecting card payment on the site. Join the waiting list and we will write when payment works.
Where do the opportunities come from?
From the official sites of organizers, universities and foundations.
How often is the catalog updated?
Every 4 hours. Expired programs drop out of the feed.
Is this only for my country?
Programs from around the world. Filter by country and format, including fully online.
How do I add program deadlines to my calendar?
With Pro, every program has "Add to calendar": in the "⋯" menu on the card, on the program page and next to a Mentor step. Google Calendar opens a ready event, you just press "Save". For iPhone, Mac and Outlook a file is downloaded: open it and the event is added with reminders a week before, the day before and on the morning of the deadline. If a program has no date, choose when to be reminded.
Why is my calendar empty or without reminders?
"Dates to calendar" in Mentor is a subscription: deadlines of saved programs and prep steps get there on their own, each on its own date, so today may be empty. Google refreshes a subscription every 8-24 hours and sends no notifications for it, and Apple removes alerts from subscriptions by default. For reminders, add programs with the "Add to calendar" button. In Google an event can have as many reminders as you like: open it and press "Add notification".
What do "Verified", "Under review" and "Not verified" mean?
It is the status of an achievement in your portfolio. "Under review": you attached a diploma, a letter or a link to the results, and a moderator is checking them. "Verified": checked; such achievements earn points, and only they go into the PDF résumé. "Not verified": there is no proof yet, and the achievement is shown in your portfolio with this mark.
Who can see my portfolio?
Your list of achievements is closed by default. You can open it in your portfolio, in the "Who can see this" block: then it is available via your personal link, but it will not appear in Google search. There you can also remove yourself from the ranking.
