Rubin Comet Catchers: hunt for comets in Vera C. Rubin Observatory images
Volunteers scan images from the Vera C. Rubin Observatory (its Legacy Survey of Space and Time, the largest astronomical survey ever attempted) and look for signs of comet activity such as faint tails and comae around icy bodies. Such bodies carry clues about the origin of Earth's water. The project interface is available in several languages, including Russian. No special training is needed, there is no application deadline, and a volunteer certificate can be generated in the Zooniverse account.
