For anyone: the New Particle Search at CERN project was created by researchers of the ATLAS experiment so that volunteers visually study proton-collision events at the Large Hadron Collider and help look for signs of massive, long-lived particles that could point to new physics. Participants learn data analysis skills, help optimise the detectors and contribute to knowledge of the structure of matter. Participation is online with no deadline; Zooniverse lets volunteers generate a volunteer certificate, which can be used for service learning requirements.
