Open to bachelor's, master's and doctoral students from any country who have completed roughly three years of a computer science bachelor's programme and have an excellent academic record. Internships at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics (Saarbrücken), the Institute for Software Systems (Saarbrücken and Kaiserslautern) and the Institute for Security and Privacy (Bochum) typically last 12 to 14 weeks; for a summer start (May-August) in 2027, applications are due by November 1, 2026. Admitted interns receive a stipend, and their housing and travel from their place of residence to the institute and back are covered. The application is filled in online with a CV, transcripts and contact details of referees.
