UN DESA Internship: public administration, New York, two months from November 2026

For final-year bachelor's students, master's and PhD students, and graduates of those programmes; a field of study related to the internship and fluent English are required, and knowledge of another official UN language is an advantage. The intern in the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) researches public administration and institutions, public service delivery and innovation, sustainable development and digital government, assists at conferences and meetings, helps prepare analytical documents and populates databases. The internship is in person at UN Headquarters in New York for two months, with a desired start date of 2 November 2026. The internship is not paid by the UN: travel, visa, accommodation and living costs are borne by the intern or the sponsoring institution; applications are accepted until 15 October 2026 on the UN careers portal (careers.un.org).
