For final-year bachelor's students, master's and PhD students, and graduates of those programmes; a field of study related to the internship and fluent English are required, and knowledge of another official UN language is an advantage. The intern in the Advocacy Section of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) supports the section's social media work: drafting and editing content, adapting messages for different platforms, scheduling posts, monitoring performance and creating simple visuals in Canva. The internship is in person in Vienna, full-time (five days, 40 hours per week), for six months from December 2026 (the vacancy notice gives three to six months). The internship is not paid by the UN: travel, visa, accommodation and living costs are borne by the intern or the sponsoring institution; applications are accepted until 12 October 2026 on the UN careers portal (careers.un.org).
