For final-year bachelor's students, master's and PhD students, and graduates of those programmes; a field of study related to the internship and fluent English are required, and knowledge of another official UN language is an advantage. The intern in the Insight and Accountability Unit of the Office of the Chief of Staff of the UN Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) helps develop the department's key performance indicators, process surveys, build dashboards and visualizations, validate datasets and move data processing to automated pipelines in Microsoft Azure and Fabric. The internship is full-time in person (35 hours per week) with remote or hybrid work possible, and lasts 3 to 6 months. The internship is not paid by the UN: travel, visa, accommodation and living costs are borne by the intern or the sponsoring institution; applications are accepted until 15 October 2026 on the UN careers portal (careers.un.org).
