UN Operations and Crisis Centre Internship: geographical information systems (GIS)

For final-year bachelor's students, master's and PhD students, and graduates of those programmes; a field of study related to the internship and fluent English are required, and knowledge of another official UN language is an advantage. The intern works in the Data Unit of UNOCC, which carries out integrated analysis, modelling and data engineering for senior UN leadership; relevant coursework in GIS, remote sensing, cartography, visualization, spatial analysis, modeling or geospatial programming is sought. The format is flexible (in person, remote or hybrid) and the internship lasts 6 months; the opening builds a pool of candidates for internship vacancies through January 2027. The internship is not paid by the UN: travel, visa, accommodation and living costs are borne by the intern or the sponsoring institution; applications are accepted until 8 January 2027 on the UN careers portal (careers.un.org).
