UN Department of Peace Operations Internship: DDR strategic communications, New York, 3-6 months

For final-year bachelor's students, master's and PhD students, and graduates of those programmes; a field of study related to the internship and fluent English are required, and knowledge of another official UN language is an advantage. The intern in the Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR) Branch of the Peacebuilding and Peace Support Office handles strategic communications: writing and editing web stories, articles, newsletters and fact sheets, preparing publications, infographics and social media content and supporting the branch's web page and event communications. The internship is in New York, full-time (35 hours per week, four days in the office and one day remote), for 3 months with a possible extension to 6, starting on 1 November 2026 or sooner. The internship is not paid by the UN: travel, visa, accommodation and living costs are borne by the intern or the sponsoring institution; applications are accepted until 17 October 2026 on the UN careers portal (careers.un.org).
