START at JINR (Dubna): winter session 2027, a paid research internship, apply by October 16

Open to science, engineering and IT students under 30 who have completed the third year of a bachelor's or specialist degree, master's students and first-year PhD students; applications are accepted from all over the world, and Kazakhstan is on the country list of the application form. The STudent Advanced Research Training (START) programme of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research is an on-site research internship in Dubna lasting 6-8 weeks; the winter session of 2027 runs from February 14 to June 26, and applications are open until October 16, 2026. Participation is fully funded: the JINR hostel is free of charge, the daily allowance is 2,000 roubles, and transport, visa and insurance costs are reimbursed; participants are selected by project supervisors. Applicants register on the programme website, choose a topic from the winter session 2027 plan and click APPLY; the form is filled out in English.
