Photographers of any age can take part; there are "Young (under 18)" categories for authors aged 17 and under and the "RPS Student Food Photographer of the Year" category for students. Entries are accepted from September 8, 2026 to February 7, 2027: the "Young (under 18)" categories (up to five entries) and the student category are free to enter, while adult categories cost £35 (up to six photos). The top prize is £5,000, and the best works are shown at Mall Galleries in London.
