For school students aged 11-18 from any country and education system: the junior category is for ages 11-13, the senior category for ages 14-18. The independent organization Oxford Global Education (not affiliated with the University of Oxford) accepts essays on one of ten questions about artificial intelligence, medicine and genetics, climate, government and the economy, and history and national memory: up to 1,000 words in the junior category and up to 1,500 words in the senior category, with the deadline on 31 January 2027, 23:59 GMT. Participation is free; the grand prize is $1,000, a three-month Fellowship and publication, and the category laureates receive $500 and a one-month Fellowship each.
