For final-year bachelor's students, master's and PhD students, and graduates of those programmes; a field of study related to the internship and fluent English are required, and knowledge of another official UN language is an advantage. The intern in the Office of Intergovernmental Support and Coordination for Sustainable Development of DESA helps modernize the department's Drupal websites: preparing web graphics, uploading and reviewing content, testing online modules and features and, under supervision, working with PHP, HTML, CSS, Photoshop, InDesign and SQL databases. The internship is based at UN Headquarters in New York with remote work possible under a flexible arrangement, full-time (can be adjusted to part-time) and lasts 2 to 6 months. The internship is not paid by the UN: travel, visa, accommodation and living costs are borne by the intern or the sponsoring institution; applications are accepted until 12 October 2026 on the UN careers portal (careers.un.org).
