Hack Apertus: an online hackathon on Switzerland's open language model Apertus, 1-16 October

Only for adults, as defined by the law of the country of residence; residents of Russia, Brazil, Quebec, Cuba, Iran, North Korea and Crimea are not eligible. For over two weeks participants work with Switzerland's fully open language model Apertus (8B and 70B versions): they find and document its weak spots, adapt it to Swiss languages and dialects, and build open projects. The online stage runs from 1 to 16 October 2026, and the strongest projects advance to the Grand Finals in St. Gallen in May 2027. The prize pool is over 10,680 euros, including 2,500 Swiss francs for first place in the Red-Teaming track.
