Open to developers aged 18+ worldwide; write-ups are accepted in English (non-English entries are not eligible for prizes). In October 2026 the DEV community runs a series of weekly challenges, with the theme revealed on the launch day: participants build a new project with open-source AI at its core (an open-weight model, an agent framework or local inference) and write about it on DEV; the weeks of 12-18, 19-25 and 26-31 October are still open. Winners receive cash prizes (250 dollars and a DEV++ membership in the opening challenge), badges and partner credits.
